The District is proposing a layoff in services in Instructional Paraprofessional, Preschool for 2022-23. Assembly Bill (AB) 438 (Chapter 665, 2021) requires classified reductions designated as “permanent classified employees.” Currently, the preschool program does not have the enrollment necessary to warrant staff for the preschool program to the current level. The staff will continue to recruit for the preschool program in an effort to increase enrollment for the 2022-23 school year. The total full-time equivalent being reduced is 1.0 and affects two staff members. Both will retain their positions through the end of the school year. |
